Born Cashmere Antonio Small in The Bronx, New York, Cash Cobain emerged in the early 2020s as the architect of sample drill — the New York micro-genre that fuses Brooklyn drill drums with R&B and pop samples. His own records ('Fisherrr,' 'Rump') made him one of the most influential producer-rappers in the post-Pop Smoke NYC scene. For Don, Cash Cobain performed on and produced Hardstone Psycho's 'Attitude' (with Charlie Wilson) and co-produced 'Ice Age' — bringing his sample-drill aesthetic into Don's Houston-Atlanta orbit. His Don credits expanded the geographic and stylistic range of the Hardstone Psycho era.
