Born Dacoury Dahi Natche in Los Angeles, DJ Dahi first made his name producing Kendrick Lamar's 'Money Trees' (2012) before becoming a recurring collaborator across Drake (the Take Care era), Schoolboy Q, and Vince Staples. His sound is smoky and sample-driven, often built around chopped soul or jazz loops with deep, sub-heavy 808s. For Don, Dahi's atmosphere defines several catalog peaks: 'Drugs n Hella Melodies' (the Kali Uchis duet on Life of a Don, marking their first public musical collaboration), and both 'If I Had' (with Charlie Wilson) and 'Encouragement' on Love Sick. His tracks tend to slow Don's tempo down and let the vocal breathe — moments of stillness inside otherwise hyperactive albums.
