Born Chauncey Alexander Hollis Jr. in Fontana, California, Hit-Boy first broke through producing Jay-Z and Kanye's 'Niggas in Paris' (2011) before reinventing his career as Nas's primary collaborator across the King's Disease trilogy and Magic series — a partnership that earned him the 2021 Grammy for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical. For Don, Hit-Boy delivered three of the catalog's more polished moments: 'What You Need' on Life of a Don, then 'Go Down' and 'Bus Stop' on Love Sick (with Brent Faiyaz). His production tends toward the soul-sampling, drum-forward end of the spectrum — a counterweight to Don's typical synth-and-guitar palette. Other credits include Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, and the entire Nipsey Hussle Victory Lap album.
