Track eleven of *Hardstone Psycho* and the third song in Volume C: Twin Peaks, 'Backstreets' features Teezo Touchdown — the Beaumont, Texas–born singer-rapper who previously joined Don on 'Luckily I'm Having' (*Love Sick* deluxe, 2023). Los Hendrix, Bryvn, and 206Derek produce. The Teezo collaboration is the structural choice for the track's mood: Teezo's indie-rock-adjacent vocal phrasing pulls the song toward a more nostalgic, less rage-coded register than the album's hardstone fingerprint, and the song reads as one of the project's most explicit Houston-backroads cuts. The lyric paraphrase: the title's 'backstreets' frames the song around the city's residential side roads — the geography of growing up in Alief, the routes that don't make it onto national maps — and Don's narrator stages the song as a memory drive through that landscape. Inside the Volume C sequence, 'Backstreets' performs the structural job of closing the volume on a softer, more interior note before Volume D: Promise Land (with 'Inside,' '5 to 10,' 'Last Laugh,' 'Hardstone National Anthem') takes the album into its concept-statement final segment.
